Early 1900's   Establishment of the Brownson Club under the guidance and availability of a diocesan cleric. Social events or lectures were held in the old Knights of Columbus in the Larned Block.
     
1915   The Brownson Club became the Newman Club.
     
1935   The Rev. Gannon Ryan was appointed the first full time chaplain to the Newman Community.
     
1939   The Syracuse Diocese gave approval for the formation of the St. Thomas More Foundation.
     
1962   Under Monsignor Charles L. Borgognoni, land adjacent to 112 Walnut Place was secured and a naming gift for the new site was given by Mr. and Mrs. John G. Alibrandi. In memory of their son.
     
Today   87 years later, the St. Thomas More/Newman Ministry offers diverse spiritual, social, and educational opportunities for some 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
